Finding new ways of working during the COVID-19 crisis

Green Building Store is open for business during the Covid-19 crisis, being careful to protect our staff and customers while continuing to keep the business running smoothly. 

We are still available to offer technical support on your low energy and Passivhaus building project through this difficult period. We continue to offer PHPP modelling and consultancy, we continue to quote for your projects, we continue to accept new orders, and we are currently managing to continue to supply and deliver our wide range of high performance products. 

Working from home 

Most of Green Building Store’s staff are now working from home. Green Building Store is lucky in that the majority of our work can be undertaken with staff working from home.  All staff can always be contacted by email and phone whereever they are. Simply call our switchboard on 01484 461705 to be put through. 

New telephone system

To help with everyone working from home we now have a new web-based phone system. We are, inevitably, having a few teething problems with the system, so please bear with us if it isn’t as easy to get hold of us. We are still here and please keep trying our switchboard number on 01484 461705.

FREE CPD webinars from Green Building StoreGreen Building Store has a wealth of FREE online resources on Passivhaus and low energy building available to access during this period of self-isolation. We have also now moved our FREE CPDs for building professionals online and are planning more FREE webinars in the next few days.

 

 

Delivery of goods 

Green Building Store deliveries continuing during Covid 19 crisisOur Warehouse and Despatch Manager is currently are able to fulfill orders smoothly and orders are being sent out as usual, working on his own but with another member of staff on hand if needed.   With the daily changing situation there may be some interruption to supply of products, although we intend to keep our warehousing and despatch open while we can. We accept that deliveries may get disrupted, although we intend to keep our warehousing and despatch open while we can. We will do everything we can to minimise this and keep customers fully informed.

On-site teams  

Following the latest Government advice we have cancelled all window fitting and MVHR commissioning on-site activity. Some members of our small Huddersfield-based building team are already self-isolating and we await further Government advice on construction sites. For now, the few staff that are working are taking all sensible precautions.

Supply chain 

We have been working closely with our supply chain  to manage and build stock levels of key products. Our window manufacturers in Lithuania and the Czech Republic, as well as other suppliers, are also working hard to ensure continuity of supply throughout this difficult period.   With the unfolding situation there may be some interruption to supply of products,

Events are on hold 

As a sensible precaution we have cancelled all events at our Heath House Mill base planned for March – June and any forthcoming planned events are on hold for now as we await Government advice. 

Communication 

We find ourselves in a challenging global situation and everyone around the world is navigating the impact and effects of COVID-19. Green Building Store will continue to keep customers up to date on any impact on our business and  continue to act in accordance with the government’s latest advice.
