Trainee MVHR Designer

Environmental ventilation client advisory and design role

Reporting to: Tom Heywood, Design Manager, Services Department
Salary: £17,659 to £21,023 depending on experience and benefits chosen.


PAUL Novus 300 MVHR system at Landsowne Drive PassivhausTo create efficient and practical designs for Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems. To work in conjunction with clients, who may be architects, installers or homeowners.

The core task is to design systems for new build and retrofit dwellings using a bespoke CAD-based 3D design package for ventilation systems, but effective communication, both verbal and written with our varied customers is equally vital. Training in our CAD software will be provided on the job if required.

Interest in low energy building/Passivhaus/environmental building is important. You will also need strong communication skills and a technical aptitude for design and the ability to think in three dimensions. (See Person Specification for a more detailed list of requirements.)

Green Building Store will support candidates wishing to develop their knowledge through appropriate study, such as an HND in Building Services (day release).

The post carries annual paid holiday entitlement of 28 days including bank holidays, with the option of swapping a week’s pay for an extra week’s holiday.
