Technical Support Manager:  Window & door fitting and aftersales

1 year maternity cover, office based

Reporting to: Luke Gilman, Windows Department Manager

Salary:   £24,603 (£11.83/hour x 40 hours), depending on skills and experience

Location:  Golcar, Huddersfield

OVERVIEW

Planning and coordination of timber window and door fitting across the UK and managing associated snagging after sales care.  Multi-project management role involving empathetic customer liaison to deliver supportive customer service along with the associated coordination of staff and resources.

Snagging and customer aftercare

To record and respond to contact from customers about snagging issues and to coordinate the necessary interventions, in terms of both staff and the associated logistical resources.  This role requires an appreciation of the technical problems, prioritization and often complex scheduling of visits across the country.

Green Building Store has been supplying windows and doors for over 20 years and seeks to support past customers with problems that arise, whether they need to be charged, are covered by our 10 year guarantee or just need advice to resolve them themselves.

Window fitting

To schedule window and door fitting with customers, managing our team of joiners and ensuring they have the logistics in place to facilitate their work around the country.  Supporting the team is part of this role. 

Both aspects of this role require strong communications skills both verbal and written, project management and technical aptitude and or building / joinery experience.  They also need good computer literacy, for email activity, spreadsheet planning and associated media communication.

  • Technical aptitude and or building or joinery knowledge

  • Experience of sourcing and ordering supplies
  • Technical knowledge of timber windows and doors

Terms

40 hours per week, or possibly slightly less by arrangement (salary will be pro-rata).

The salary will depend on skills and experience.  The post carries 20 days annual holiday entitlement as well as 8 public holidays, with an option of additional week’s holiday in lieu of 2.5%.  Pay currently weekly in arrears.  Statutory sick pay only.

Windows Department Administrator

1 year contract

Reporting to:  Luke Gilman, Windows Department Manager

Salary: £10.31 per hour (5 hours per day) depending on skills and experience

Location: Golcar, Huddersfield

OVERVIEW

To administer the sales process, coordinating window and door deliveries, managing customer invoicing, ordering hardware signing off department invoices along with a number of other associated tasks.  Depending on skills and experience the role may also involve producing some window and door quotations.

Green Building Store is a small company committed to delivering energy efficient products enabling customers to improve the energy performance of their houses.  Our USPs are technical knowledge and customer care.  This role supports the department’s delivery of high quality customer service and the running of an efficient department.

To be considered for this role you will need to have competence with SAGE Line 50 Accounts or a similar accounting programme, Excel spreadsheets and email.  Additionally, written communications skills, and a methodical and careful nature are also important along with the ability to learn.  Technical aptitude and or some building knowledge would be extremely valuable.

  • Computer literate, specifically in Excel and email, ideally Microsoft Outlook.
  • Strong written communications skills and typing competence.
