Delivery & installation

Delivery

Our insulation supplies come direct from the insulation manufacturer and are delivered by a commercial delivery company.  The delivery company will contact you to inform you about their delivery schedule prior to delivery.   We do try very hard to ensure that delivery is as convenient as possible for you and we will make every effort to ensure that the delivery company is aware of any special requirements you have for delivery.  However you do need to be aware that the delivery companies deal with these items as building materials, so delivery may not be quite as convenient as some of our other products.  In particular you should be aware of the following.

  1. Delivery may be made by a large lorry.  If you have difficult access you need to tell us this immediately.
  2. Because insulation materials are bulky they are often palletised to ensure safe and efficient delivery.  In common with other building materials the delivery company will only unload the pallet or packs of insulation to a location convenient to them at your address.  They should not be relied upon to split pallets or take items into houses or storage facilities.  You may need to make arrangements to move your insulation from the unloading location into your house or storage facilities.
  3. If delivery is on a pallet, the delivery company will normally leave this with your insulation.  You will need to make suitable arrangements to dispose of the pallet later.

Our charge for insulation delivery is based on these delivery conditions and there is normally very little we can do to vary them.  However, if any of these points give you concern, please do talk to us as soon as possible.

Cutting tips

For accurate cutting. tightly compress or clamp the insulation between two pieces of solid 15mm board. Overhang the fleece where you want to cut , keeping the board edges aligned. Saw cut the edge using a sharp, scalloped edged blade and keep the blade firm and square against both board edges throughout. Trim any fine remaining fibres with large scissors or shears.

Thermafleece PB20 can also be cut using a straight edge and a Stanley knife or simply torn apart.
