Paint strippers
Conventional paint strippers contain powerful solvents which can be hazardous to health. The most common solvent, dichloromethane, is a known carcinegen and highly toxic. Paint stripping can also be dangerous because of the dangers of disturbing old lead paint or asbestos in artex coatings.
