Fitting service
Green Building Store offers a fitting service which is accredited with both FENSA and Constructionline. The service is available for most areas of the UK, dependent on contract size. Please ask us for a quote.
If you wish to organise your own installation, please note the following:
Delivery
How windows are packaged
Windows are normally delivered fully finished and factory glazed, with each item individually wrapped to protect the finish. They are then palletised into blocks to be loaded onto the lorry.
Delivery times
Delivery is during normal office hours on the specified delivery day. If you cannot accept delivery during normal office hours on this day, we should be notified as soon as possible. Unforeseen circumstances (road conditions etc) may result in delays. We will keep you informed should this be the case.
Site access
The delivery will normally be made by articulated lorry. If access is not available for this size of vehicle we can arrange for smaller lorries to be used at extra cost.
Unloading from the lorry
Our recommendations is that you unload with a fork lift truck or other mechanical lifting mechanism. The lorry will not have a tail lift and the driver is not bound to help unload. Should mechanical lifting equipment not be available on site, packs of windows can be broken into individual windows by removing the cross bracing holding them together with a screwdriver.
Handling the windows
Because the windows are factory glazed, individual items can be very heavy:
- Double glazed windows will weigh around 30 kg/m2
- Triple glazed windows will weigh around 40 kg/m2
These figures can vary depending on glass configuration (eg toughened glass)
Please ensure you are able to handle the windows safely on site.
Checking the windows
You will be provided with an advice note which will accompany your delivery. Please use this to check off the items included in the delivery. We need to know as soon as possible (in any event within 14 days) when any items arrive damaged or, within 24 hours where incorrect quantities are found.
Installation
Installation systems for Ecocontract windows depends on the specification of the windows. Appropriate instructions will be provided with delivery.
