Satin and gloss paints from the Natural Paint Collection are genuine oil bound glosses, based on natural oils and tree resins. A glance at the list of ingredients tells you that these paints are very different from conventional synthetic glosses. They also have exceptional covering power, and give a tough dirt and water repellent finish.

Colours range
A greater range of colours can be obtained by mixing colours together.

Use our Mixer Pots to help you experiment to find the colour you want, or to add a subtle hint of colour to white gloss or matt paint.

Drying times
Natural paints generally take longer to dry than ordinary synthetic ones. This is because natural oils dry and harden in a different way. With adequate ventilation and warmth this isn’t a problem. Use them from late spring to early autumn outside, and remember to keep rooms warm and well ventilated for interior use in the winter.

Interior use
No primer is needed.
Apply one coat of white Undercoat to new wood or metals and existing sound satin or gloss paints.
Apply one coat of Interior Satin or Gloss paint.
A further coat of Undercoat or Interior Satin or Gloss may sometimes be required.

Exterior use (White Gloss only)
Use Exterior Gloss BF-1216, available in White or other colours to special order (minimum order quantity applies)
Bare timber: prime with Herbal Wood Primer; apply one coat of Undercoat and two coats of Exterior Gloss.
Existing sound paint: apply a minimum of one coat of Undercoat, and two coats of Exterior Gloss.

Ferrous metals
Prime with Rust Primer before application of Undercoat.

Gloss Paint
A durable gloss paint made from natural raw materials in white and a range of colours. Matt white also available.
