Less is more... The term less is more was originally coined by the Bauhaus architect Mies Van Der Rohe to describe a new minimalism in form and design. For Green Building Store, the term denotes sustainable design and the use of products with minimal environmental impact. Green Building Store is wholly owned and run by Environmental Construction Products Ltd, an independent company dedicated to developing and promoting thermally efficient and environmentally sensitive building products. Founded in 1995 by three experienced building professionals, Bill Butcher, Chris Herring and Steve Slator, Environmental Construction Products grew out of their experience of low-energy speculative building (well in advance of the Building Regulations of the time, and in fact of the current Regulations) and research into the toxicity of building materials. The Company's original range of high performance timber windows and doors pioneered the use of ultra-efficient low-E glazing in combination with a Boron timber treatment system and a biocide-free factory finishing system based on plant oils and mineral pigments. Since then, a range of other products has been introduced, including natural paints, sanitaryware, insulation materials, guttering and more.
