Warmcel 100 is a ready-to-lay cellulose fibre loft insulation, which is very safe and easy to lay, and helps protect the environment.
It is an excellent alternative to glass and mineral fibre insulation quilts in your loft, and is suitable for full insulation or just to top up your existing insulation. We only recommend it where the roof is 'felted', ie. has roofing felt or membrane laid under the slates or tiles, as a secondary protection against water ingress.

Why is Warmcel 100 a better way to insulate?
Warmcel 100 cellulose fibres are extracted from 100% recycled newspapers, putting good use paper that would otherwise go to land-fill sites.
Warmcel 100 is non-toxic, non-irritant and presents no health hazard whatsoever.
Warmcel 100 is extremely resistant to fire and rodent attack.
Warmcel 100 can be disposed of safely without creating toxic waste or biodegradeability problems.
Warmcel 100 uses very little energy to manufacture: much less than other insulation materials. Warmcel insulation has been installed in over one million homes in the UK alone.
Thermal insulation
Thickness for thickness, Warmcel insulation gives better protection against heat loss. This is because Warmcel is based on paper which is a natural insulation material, and it forms a complete blanket over the loft. This leaves no gaps for the heat to escape through, unlike quilt type insulation materials.
To be technical, Warmcel 100 has an impressive thermal conductivity value of only 0.036 w/mk. The loose fill installation method ensures a complete seal, eliminating gaps, cracks and other cold bridges. All from recycled newspaper!
Fire Safety
People are often concerned that Warmcel 100, being made from newspaper, might not be safe because of the risk of fire. In fact Warmcel is extremely resistant to fire, as illustrated.
This remarkable performance is achieved through the addition of simple inorganic salts, which enable Warmcel to meet all fire protection standards including British Standard 5803-4.
Biological safety
Warmcel is formulated to protect it against any potential hazards that may be encountered in use. It is resistant to all biological attack: insects and fungal attack, including dry rot. Warmcel is unattractive to vermin.
Building components
Warmcel is also harmless to other common building components, such as copper pipes, electrical cable and metal nail plate fasteners.
