The Ecoplus range of windows and doors has been at the cutting edge of sustainable design since its launch in 1995 and aims to systematically address the environmental issues associated with window manufacture.

As part of Green Building Store’s commitment to promoting ultra low energy building design, we have switched our Ecoplus window production to focus on triple glazing and, from 1st June 2009, will be making argon filled triple glazing more affordable by offering it at the same price as double glazing. We believe triple glazing should become the standard choice for windows and doors in the UK to help combat climate change. Triple glazed windows are around 30% more efficient than double glazing and can significantly improve the energy efficiency of homes, saving money on energy bills and reducing CO2 emissions.

Ecoplus offers a unique environmental specification:

• Ultra efficient triple argon-fill glazing as standard, for the same price as double glazing units*
• Whole window U values = 1.0 W/m2K (0.8 W/m2K for triple glazing with krypton).
• FSC Pure certified timber
• Choice of engineered timbers - redwood or oak
• Boron timber preservatives
• Paints and stains made with natural plant oils
• High quality, bespoke manufacturing
• Made in West Yorkshire

* Double glazing still available, if requested – eg for conservatories or for listed buildings where triple glazing is not permitted - with ‘A' rated Energy Window option (BFRC-rated).

Pioneering windows!

• In 1995 Ecoplus System pioneered the use of boron timber treatments and of ultra efficient glazing, far in advance of building regulations.
• In 2004 Ecoplus System became the first FSC Pure timber window manufactured in UK .
• In 2008 Green Building Store received a ‘Major Commendation Award' in BCE Environmental Leadership Awards in recognition of its pioneering work in developing the Ecoplus System range.
• In 2009 Green Building Store received a Queen's Award for Enterprise : Sustainable Development 2009 for its ‘pioneering approach to sustainability' and for delivering ‘cutting edge sustainable products'.
• In 2009 Ecoplus launched argon fill triple glazing as standard, for the same price as its double glazing units.*

* Green Building Store is committed to supporting the uptake of triple glazing in the UK and has increased production efficiency and reduced the cost of its Ecoplus triple glazed windows and doors to help consumers go down this route. The cost reductions have brought the cost of triple glazing in line with that of double glazing (based on Ecoplus double glazing prices which remain unchanged from 2008 to the present). Does not apply to solar spaces and conservatories.
